SWEP offering BPHE in CO2 reduced steel
27th April 2025
SWEDEN: SWEP is now offering European customers seeking to minimise their carbon footprint the option of brazed plate heat exchangers made of CO2-reduced steel.
For products incorporating CO2-reduced steel, SWEP says it is carefully sourcing material from suppliers that optimise their supply chains and utilise renewable and low carbon energy sources, fewer processing steps in production and a higher degree of recycled steel content. It insists that the property of the steel does not compromise quality and heat transfer performance.
The CO2-reduced steel material option is available for the European market and is initially being offered in BPHE ranges, mainly used within residential and commercial solutions.
SWEP’s offering includes ISO-verified CO2 calculations (ISO14067) for the specific product type, which can be used by the customer to calculate the total product footprint of their system.
“The introduction of CO2-reduced steel reflects SWEP’s commitment to sustainability and aligns with global efforts to mitigate climate change impacts,” said SWEP president Ulrika Nordqvist. “We see this as an important new capability, not only for driving our own sustainability efforts, but also for supporting customer aspirations to minimise the carbon footprint of their value chain.”
