Swegon acquires Dutch distributor

SWEDEN/NETHERLANDS: Swedish HVAC manufacturer Swegon has acquired its Dutch HVAC distributor Western Airconditioning.

Founded in 1988, Western Airconditioning, has close to 40 employees with headquarters in Hoevelaken, near Amersfoort. It supplies air conditioners, chillers, heat pumps, and air handling equipment. Sales amounted to €13m in 2025.

“Building on our recent expansion in the Netherlands, this acquisition strengthens our footprint and adds valuable expertise for customers in the heating and cooling segment, at a time when the market is rapidly moving toward more efficient, next-generation indoor climate,” commented Swegon Group CEO Eva Karlsson.

“Western Airconditioning has been a long-standing distributor of Swegon’s chillers and heat pumps in the Netherlands, and we are now happy to welcome them into the Swegon family. With this acquisition, we gain a complete indoor climate offering for the Dutch market. Western Airconditioning brings not only high‑quality HVAC solutions but also a strong service organisation with extensive technical know‑how.”
