Tomorrow’s compressor today

Tecumseh-AJ2-CompressorFRANCE: Tecumseh’s all-new AJ2 commercial refrigeration compressor is said to be the answer to today’s market expectations in terms of interchangeability, compactness and quiet operation, while being optimised for tomorrow’s HFO and HC refrigerants.

Following on from the success of its predecessor – which sold more than 20 million worldwide since its original introduction in 1961 – the AJ² is said to deliver best-in-class efficiency, a wide capacity range, and all in a smaller size. The AJ2 is designed for use with traditional refrigerants R134a, R404A and R22 and is optimised for the new HFO R1234yf as well as propane.

The AJ² is said to be the answer to current market demands for interchangeability, compactness and low noise. The patented Te-Connect wiring harness and plug assembly guarantees a safe and secure connection, virtually eliminating wiring errors, reducing installation time and providing electrical isolation (required for HC refrigerants).

Other key features include a redesigned valve plate and refrigerant gas handling, resulting in improved compressor efficiency, and a redesigned housing and suction/discharge muffler system which lowers the overall sound level.

The new AJ2 compressor will begin finding its way into commercial refrigeration equipment such as display cases, walk-in cold rooms and reach-in coolers in early 2015.
