Trane’s higher-capacity air-cooled chillers

BELGIUM: Trane claims to have set a new benchmark in data centre cooling with its new high-capacity Sintesis eXcellent GVAF air-cooled chillers.

With capacities now reaching up to 2.5MW and widened operating map capable of delivering ultra-reliable cooling up to 54°C ambient, the extended GVAF range is said to provide large industrial and data centre operators with more high-efficiency design choices, greater potential for free cooling and higher performance in a smaller footprint.

The new GVAF 505 and GVAF 550 models are said to have been engineered to address the requirements of data centre operators these needs, delivering strengthened full‑load performance, high‑capacity free cooling and rapid‑restart capability to facilities where uptime and stability are essential.

The operating map has been widened to 54°C ambient. All models are optimised for low‑GWP R1234ze, with optional CORE condensers available to further increase heat‑rejection effectiveness, capacity per square metre and full‑load performance.

All Sintesis eXcellent GVAF units are manufactured and tested at Trane Technologies’ plant in France, and supported by its sales and service network in EMEA and Australia and New Zealand.
