Adapting RACHP design to climate change
6th July 2025
UK: A detailed programme has been released for an international conference in Manchester in August on how RACHP design must adapt to the climate change challenge.
The IIR conference, Adaptation 2025, will bring together international experts to share knowledge, showcase innovation and examine how the industry can respond to increasingly frequent extreme weather events.
Themed around risk management, ESG (environmental, social and governance) and the future landscape of RACHP, the conference will feature a robust programme covering critical issues such as building resilient cold chains, managing heat in buildings and industrial processes, and low-carbon innovation and net zero strategies already in action.
In addition to almost 50 technical papers from around the world, the conference will offer five interactive workshops and one short course, which include sessions on unlocking hidden value from refrigeration data and using energy benchmarking to reduce costs and emissions.
Confirmed keynote speakers include Dr Tim Fox, the internationally recognised expert in climate change mitigation and adaptation and Dr Pete Falloon, the UK Met Office food security science lead.
Adaptation 2025 is being organised by the Institute of Refrigeration and takes place from 10-13 August.
The conference programme can be viewed here, with further information and attendance fees on the Institute of Refrigeration website.
