LG upgrades UK training facility in global push

UK: LG Electronics has revamped its UK training academy in Weybridge to include R290 air-to-water heat pumps and Multi Vi systems alongside state of the art training equipment.

The training programmes are designed to upskill installers, distributors, and customers in installing, commissioning, and troubleshooting residential and commercial split ACs, VRF systems, chillers, and air-to-water heat pumps.

Training at the LG Academy focuses on LG products, to help engineers master the specific commissioning procedures, error codes, and control settings of LG products. It also provides comparative training sessions that cover key differences across other manufacturers like Daikin, Mitsubishi and Panasonic, making it invaluable for engineers working across multiple brands.

The UK investment is part of an expansion of LG’s worldwide training infrastructure to encompass 70 academies worldwide by the end of this year. The ultimate aim is to be collectively training approximately 37,000 HVAC professionals each year.

New facilities and upgrading facilities have been established in key markets including Thailand, China, Indonesia and France.

In January 2025, LG officially opened a new LG HVAC Academy in Bangkok, Thailand, capable of training up to 1,700 HVAC professionals annually.

In March, LG launched its second HVAC Academy in China, adding a new facility in Shenzhen to complement the existing Tianjin location, which reopened in 2023. It also reopened its newly relocated and expanded HVAC Academy in Jakarta, Indonesia.

Last month, LG commenced operations at a new HVAC Academy in Lyon, France.
