300 firms achieve Elite status

UK: F-gas certification body REFCOM has now attracted 300 companies to its highest level REFCOM Elite scheme.

Membership of the voluntary REFCOM Elite scheme demonstrates that members have reached high standards of competence and compliance in refrigerant management.

Going further than the mandatory F-gas certification, member companies undergo third-party inspection of their business every three years. The 300 REFCOM Elite members not only meet the basic F-gas certification standards, but have also demonstrated that they operate auditable procedures for control of refrigerants. They also use purpose-designed refrigerant recovery equipment and perform any refrigerant transactions with minimum emissions.

Rachel Davidson, BESA’s director of certification said: “We are delighted to see the numbers of REFCOM Elite members grow. It shows that our sector takes its environmental responsibilities seriously.”

REFCOM Elite membership is designed to ensure that businesses meet the best practices in refrigerant management. A members’ engineers will hold an ACRIB SKILLcard which provides evidence of identification, skills and qualifications. It also demonstrates that the cardholder has passed a Health Safety and Environment test.

A full list of all REFCOM Elite member companies can be found on the REFCOM website
