Advanced raises over £5,000 for charity

Tournament winner Nick Wilks (left) with Advanced Engineering chairman Barry Lea

UK: Advanced Engineering raised over £5,000 for charity in this year’s annual golf day at the beginning of this month.

Now in its 24th year, this year’s event at Sherfield Oaks Golf Club in Hampshire raised £5,170 in aid of Prostate Cancer UK.

After the match, the 70 golfers and guests enjoyed an evening meal, a raffle and an entertaining talk from former professional boxer John Conteh.

“We are incredibly fortunate to work with so many good people in our industry,” said Advanced Engineering chairman Barry Lea. “Days like today give us that chance to express our thanks to our customers, distributors and suppliers for their support. But, more than that, they also let us support our wider community.

Nick Wilks, Fujitsu’s national distribution sales manager, was this year’s tournament winner  with a score of 46.
