BSRIA’s Julia Evans awarded OBE

UK: BSRIA chief executive Julia Evans has been awarded an OBE in the Queen’s Birthday honours for services to the construction industry.

Julia Evans spent eight years as chief executive of the National Federation of Builders before taking over from Andrew Eastwell at BSRIA in 2014.

Based in Bracknell, BSRIA is one of the leading test, instruments, research and consultancy organisations in the UK, providing specialist services in construction and building services.

As chief executive, Julia is responsible for the development of BSRIA’s future growth and prosperity. She heads the organisation’s operations across 96 countries with its network of offices in Chicago, Beijing, Lille and Bamber Bridge.

She sits on the CITB investment funding committee, serves as governor and vice chair of the Corporation of Leeds College of Building, was the founder of the Construction Alliance and a founder member of the Construction Apprenticeship Task Force (CCATF).

During her time at the NFB, Julia worked to secure more favourable conditions for members in a number of areas including public sector procurement, utilities, access to finance, health and safety, training and innovation.
