Cancer support is icing on the cake

Marketing coordinator Becky Lowe, the winner of the baking competition, is seen with main judge and renowned cake expert Greg Cattell, Beijer Ref UK’s head of purchasing

UK: Staff at Beijer Ref UK and Ireland’s head office in Leeds have raised over £200 in support of cancer charity Macmillan.

Around 15 staff at the UK refrigeration wholesaler’s headquarters competed in a bake-off competition last Friday in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support’s World’s Biggest Coffee Morning.

The World’s Biggest Coffee Morning is Macmillan’s largest fundraising event for people facing cancer. People and organisations across the UK are encouraged to host their own coffee mornings, with donations being made to Macmillan. Last year the event raised over £27m.

Beijer Ref’s bake off competition, organised by employees Samia Belgrave and Jessica Harris, raised £214 towards this year’s total.
