UK: Carrier has made a strategic investment in Heat Geek, the UK-based technology platform and network of heat pump engineers.
The investment has been made by Carrier Ventures, Carrier Global’s venture capital subsidiary established in 2022, focused on investing in sustainable innovations and disruptive building and cold chain management technologies.
Founded in 2016, Heat Geek offers training courses to assist gas engineers to transition to heat pump work, as well as the tools and technologies to enable those engineers to grow their business.Heat Geek-certified trained installers use advanced AI-powered tools to design and install the most efficient heat pump system for each home.
The platform supports the process end-to-end, from system design and quoting to financing, grants and installation.
“Accelerating the shift to heat pump technology requires both innovation and a strong professional ecosystem,” said Thomas Heim, Carrier’s president, Climate Solutions Europe. “Heat Geek is building an innovative platform that supports skilled installers and raises the standard for system design and installation. Strengthening this ecosystem will be key to scaling electrified heating across Europe, particularly in fast-growing markets like the UK.”
Heat Geek has established partnerships with a number of companies, including energy providers Ovo and Octopus, and heat pump manufacturers Aira and Vaillant.
