Changes to the board at Space Engineering

Finance director Charles Murphy departs “to pursue a new challenge”

UK: Bristol-based contractor Space Engineering Services has announced a number of changes to its board of directors, including the imminent departure of finance director Charles Murphy.

Murphy, who has been with the company for over 15 years, was described as “a fantastic servant” by managing director Dale Nouch. “Without his absolute dedication and professionalism, our business would not be in the healthy position it is now,” Nouch said, adding: “We are very grateful to Charles for his enormous contribution to the business and his excellent support during this period of transition.”

The company, which recently reported an operating profit of £1.85m in the year to 31 December 2019, against a loss of £1.92m in the previous year, has also announced a number of additions to the board. Head of people & development Diane Abrahams, who joined the company last year, has been made people & development director; national contracts manager Richard Pearson becomes service & maintenance director; and operations director Peter Terry, the former head of facilities for the John Lewis Group, who joined Space in 2019, becomes business development & marketing director.
