UK: Wholesaler Climate Center has launched a new website that gives customers access to stock levels and pricing, and the ability to order products online.

The website (www.climatecenter.co.uk) enables customers to view live stock information to check the availability of some 25,000 of products at branches across the UK, and then order directly via the web site.

Following investment in logistics, for the first time customers can place an order up to 8pm and have products delivered onsite the next day virtually anywhere in the UK.

It offers four delivery options. Click-and-collect enables customers to order products online and pick up at their chosen branch within one hour.

Standard delivery gives next day delivery for orders placed before 4pm. Express offers next-day delivery (as early as 10.30am) for orders placed up to 8pm.

24-hour call-out enables customers to pick up orders from specific branches after normal business hours.

In addition to stock checking, it enables customers to log on to their accounts and check their prices, order history, pending orders and invoices.

As well as complete coverage of Climate Center’s range of refrigeration and air conditioning products and accessories, the new site includes the company’s latest range of catering spares, recently added to the portfolio.

“We have been working closely with customers on developing the site, to make sure it is easy to use and delivers the kind of information and functionality people need to support their business,” commented Climate Center’s national sales manager for refrigeration, Robert Franklin.

“I am pleased to say the feedback we have received from customers has been fantastic. The process has helped us further improve our service and, in particular, the options for delivery and speed of turnaround for orders.”

Climate Center customer RS Refrigeration has been helping with the development of the new web site. The Hampshire-based contractor has trialled various versions during the roll-out and provided feedback.

“The site is very easy to use and navigate, and you can quickly find the products and components you are looking for,” confirmed Dave Roper, RS Refrigeration’s refrigeration and air conditioning supervisor.

“The technical info on equipment is excellent – it’s great to have everything at your fingertips on the desk top, rather than hunting through traditional tech specs and manuals.”

He added: “The new delivery options are a real step forward. The ability to order online and pick up from your chosen branch in one hour is extremely useful. Also, to be able to order up to 8pm, and have delivery onsite next day virtually anywhere in the UK, really helps with those unplanned jobs that require an immediate response.”

The new site is now live. Existing and new Climate Center customers can simply register and log on to access stock availability, pricing and ordering information.
