Cross Rental buys Swegon Hire UK

UK: Cross Rental Services has completed the acquisition of Swegon Hire UK, the Hampshire-based chiller and air conditioning hire and rental specialist.

Swedish ventilation manufacturer Swegon, owner of the Blue Box brand, acquired the business, formerly known as Coolmation, in 2013. With over 30 years heritage in the UK, Swegon Hire is particularly known for servicing customers within the manufacturing, food and beverage and defence industries.

Cross Rental Services provides HVAC hire equipment to a large, diverse group of clients including FM’s, manufacturing, logistics and warehousing, local government including the NHS, retail, and M&E contractors. The company also includes a wider group of companies covering the UK and Ireland. Along with its heating and cooling hire business, it provides commercial refrigeration and catering hire to a wide group of well know FMCG retailers, pharmaceutical, warehouse and logistics companies.

The wider Swegon UK business will continue to trade as usual and maintain its focus on indoor environmental quality through providing a complete offering in HVAC, including ventilation, heating and cooling as well as system solutions.

Cross Rental Services MD Kelvin Fogwill said: “Having worked in close partnership with Swegon Hire UK, we are delighted to announce this acquisition. It will be “business as usual”, with the added benefits of an improved capability to deliver an even higher standard of customer focus and service across the UK and Ireland.”

The Swegon Hire brand and operating name will be phased out in the coming weeks, with the business trading under the Cross Rental Services brand.
