Drummond elected BESA Scotland chair

UK: Diane Drummond, managing director of Glasgow-based air conditioning contractor B-DACS, has been elected chair of the Building Engineering Services Association (BESA) Scotland.

Drummond and husband Brian founded B-DACS in 2003 after 15 years in the retail sector and a stint in banking where she rose through the ranks to a senior management role at Lloyds.

In 2021, Drummond was chosen to take part in a programme called Unlocking Ambition run by Scottish Enterprise. The programme included coaching on business growth, leadership, and strategy. She is also vice chair of the NSPCC Ladies Lunch committee, which raises £50,000 a year to support vulnerable children and ensure they can access the Childline help service.

“We have a particularly strong heritage in Scotland and Diane is the latest in a long line of motivated and experienced business people who have been prepared to take on the role for the benefit of our members and the wider industry,” commented BESA’s membership director Rebecca Fox.

B-DACS installs, maintains, and repairs commercial ventilation and air conditioning systems throughout Scotland. The company is fully accredited by leading air conditioning manufacturers, including Mitsubishi Electric (Diamond Quality Partner), Daikin (D1 Approved Installer) and Toshiba (T7 Partner), and also holds numerous other accreditations, including ISO 9001:2015, Constructionline Gold and Safe Contractor.
