Ellis Training seeks Help for Heroes

UK: As part of its support for Help for Heroes, training company Ellis Training Works is seeking work placements for recently trained ex-servicemen.

Celebrating its 25th anniversary this year, the award-winning Hertfordshire-based company is offering refrigeration training to 25 ex-servicemen.

Training is offered on either its 10-day New Starter course or the City & Guilds 7189 Level 2 Diploma. Successful completion of the New Starter course leads to C&G Category 1 F-gas qualification, C&G 2081 Split AC (Heat Pump) Installation & Commissioning Systems and the BRA Level 3 Pipework and Flame Brazing.

Two ex-servicemen have already completed their training and another two will have completed by the end of next month. Now Ellis Training is looking for companies who might be prepared to offer them paid work experience.

“Our two leavers have successfully completed the New Starter course, meaning they are competent to work safely, confidently and legally on simple ac system installations,” commented Ellis Training Works director John Ellis.

“What we are looking for is genuine work placements for these guys, hopefully near where they live although they will all be able to drive, so that they can increase their knowledge and skills to be able to find a position in this industry,” he added.

The Help for Heroes charity is close to John Ellis’s heart, having gained his own early refrigeration experience and skills during 10 years in the army.
