Five companies fined for F-gas quota violations

UK: Civil penalties totalling over £116,000 have been imposed on five companies for breaches of F-gas quota regulations.

Quota violations relating to the import of equipment pre-charged with HFCs again top the latest list of violations in the Environment Agency’s list of civil penalties.

Under Article 14 of the F-gas regulation 517/2014, pre-charged refrigeration, air conditioning and heat pump equipment cannot be placed on the market unless the F-gases charged into the equipment are accounted for within the Great Britain quota system.

Penalties totalling £48,519.10 were imposed on cooling and heating equipment company Celsius Hire Ltd for three separate breaches of Article 14(1) and a further £48,000 was imposed for two similar violations by commercial vehicle and trailer distributor Krone Trailer UK Ltd.

Emicon-UK (£13,205.70), SL Services (Southern) (£3,300) and Parkair .UK Ltd (£3,000) were also hit for violations of Article 14(1).
