Green Point expands marine support

UK: Compressor remanufacturer Green Point UK has expanded its operations in the shipping sector by signing a deal with leading marine specialist Flynn Refrigeration.

A long-established Merseyside-company, Flynn Refrigeration has more than 35 years’ experience in the industry and supports a wide range of clients, including ship owners, fleet managers and marine suppliers.

The deal with Green Point UK, the compressor remanufacturing arm of Bitzer UK, includes the supply of replacement Bitzer compressors, high quality remanufacturing and service back-up for Flynn Refrigeration customers in the UK and overseas.

“”Flynn operates a network of supply and support services for customers both in the UK and around the world,” explained Green Point UK general manager Will Pribyl. “Green Point’s international network provides an excellent fit for their operations, as it enables the company to quickly reach wherever its customers are in port.

“When a marine refrigeration system goes down it is almost always an emergency. Ensuring rapid response to breakdowns is vital to protect the wellbeing of the crew and maintain critical cooling for perishable cargo,” he added.

“Green Point is able to draw on the combined resources of its global network to source compressors, including less-commonly-available models, which is simply not possible for a single-location operator active in only one territory. The Green Point network gives proximity to vessels wherever they are, enabling us to deliver a proactive response,” commented Flynn Refrigeration operations manager Josh Flynn.
