UK: French HVAC company Groupe Atlantic, the owner of UK company Ideal boilers, has made a “major investment” in Clade Engineering Systems, the Bristol-based CO2 heat pump manufacturer.

The partnership with Groupe Atlantic’s UK, ROI & North America Division is seen as reinforcing Groupe Atlantic’s strategy to be at the forefront of low carbon heating solutions, offering the largest portfolio of heating products in the UK.

The size of the investment is not stated but is thought to represent a minority stake in Clade.

Clade will join forces with Groupe Atlantic’s Ideal Commercial Heating, Hamworthy, ACV and Keston brands.

Founded in 1985 as refrigeration services company A1 Engineering Services, Clade later added manufacturing capacity and moved into “natural” refrigerants and heat pumps. The company produces a range of heat pumps from 50kW to over 1MW. With its expertise in “natural” refrigerant technology and heat pumps, Clade substantially upscales Groupe Atlantic’s commercial offering.

Headquartered in Bristol, Clade manufactures all of their products at their Technology Hub in Leeds, which is located near Groupe Atlantic’s commercial offices.
