Hargreaves changes name to Exyte

UK: M+W Hargreaves, one of the UK’s leading providers of air movement and ventilation ductwork solutions, has changed its name to Exyte Hargreaves Ltd.

The new name reflects a change of name by its parent, the German M+W Group, to Exyte. The Group split its business activities on August 1, creating two, distinct companies.

“Alongside our parent company, we are delighted to announce our name change and share our management team’s vision that we need a name that responds to our new strategy, that generates more emotion and that emphasises the future ahead of us,” said  Exyte Hargreaves MD Andy Sneyd. “The rebranding of our company to Exyte Hargreaves is a significant milestone and a logical step forward in our strategic development.”

Founded in 1872 in Bury, Lancashire, as Henry Hargreaves and Sons. In 1957, the company was acquired by the Senior Engineering Group, which at that time was seeking growth in the air conditioning industry. Senior sold its interests to the M+W Group in 2012, retaining its traditional Hargreaves name.
