HPA takes heat pump vision to Westminster

UK: The Heat Pump Association (HPA) is to explain how heat pumps can meet the UK’s 2050 net zero targets in a special presentation at Westminster on November 20.

The association’s new roadmap document – Heat Pumps – Transforming the UK Home Heating Market Roadmap & Vision for the Future – will outline the heat pump industry’s vision for how the deployment of heat pumps can scale up to meet net zero by 2050. The HPA says the report signals the industry’s readiness to ‘step-up’ to this challenge and how the Government can work with industry to ensure that decarbonisation is achieved.

HPA chairman Graham Wright will be speaking at the event at Portcullis House alongside Jenny Hill of the Committee on Climate Change.

“Changes in government policy, such as the commitment to decarbonise heating, represent a huge opportunity for the heat pump industry,” commented Graham Wright. “Heat pumps are a low-carbon heating system available right now but they will only fulfil their promise in the market with greater awareness of how heat pumps function and the long term benefits they bring to users.”
