HRP and Sauermann team-up for charity run

UK: A team comprising staff from wholesaler HRP and condensate pump manufacturer Sauermann are taking part in this month’s Great South Run, aiming to raise £3,000 for charity.
Sauermann UK MD Ernie Bate will join HRP head Warren Root, regional sales manager Hayley Cattell, and HRP Norwich branch manager Martin Churcher in the 10 mile race through the streets of Portsmouth on October 20.
Their aim is to raise money for the Tiny Lives Trust which supports premature and sick newborn babies and their families on the Neonatal Unit at the RVI hospital in Newcastle upon Tyne.
They are running on behalf of Team Evan a fundraising charity set up by HRP Leeds branch manager Michelle Hawksworth. Team Evan is in memory of Evan Hawksworth, who sustained a head injury while playing for his Under 14s rugby team in July 2017 and passed away two days later.
More recently, the Tiny Lives ward at the RVI provided life-saving support for Dean & Wood sales engineer Adelle Munro and her baby Sienna when she was born prematurely at 10 weeks with complications. Sienna had to have major surgery when she was just five hours old and had to remain in intensive care for a further 10 weeks.
The team at the Tiny Lives charity and teams at the RVI are said to have provided exceptional support and care throughout, both physically and emotionally.
Sienna was discharged on July 5 and is now a healthy 5-month-old.
Donations in support of the runners can be made through JustGiving.
