IoR briefs on heat pumps and circular economy

UK: New publications on heat pumps and the circular economy have been published by the Institute of Refrigeration’s Beyond Refrigeration Initiative.

The first publication, a non-technical technology brief on heat pumps, addresses and explains the different types of heat pumps available and their uses.

The circular economy in the RACHP sector is the latest in the IoR’s series of policy briefs designed to identify policy opportunities to support net zero. This policy brief explores the challenges of developing a circular economy for the RACHP sector where most products and equipment in use or coming to end-of-life were not designed for circularity. The brief covers topics such as increasing resource efficiency through design, extending product life, materials recycling and reclamation and systems thinking/energy efficiency.

Beyond Refrigeration is the IoR’s environmental initiative designed to support users of refrigeration, air conditioning and heat pump technologies to achieve carbon reduction and to support effective policy implementation, financial incentives, and emissions monitoring.
