Livingston Mechanical acquired

UK: Morris & Spottiswood has acquired West-Lothian-based Livingston Mechanical Services.

Morris & Spottiswood CEO Jon Dunwell said the buy-out would increase its strength in northern regions and enhance the company’s rapidly expanding M&E division.

West Lothian based Livingston Mechanical Services, formed in 1992, delivers heating, ventilation, air-conditioning and plumbing services across Scotland.

“We have been searching for a partner to strengthen our M&E division for some time as it remains a major growth market across the UK,” said Dunwell. The company’s M&E division has been growing rapidly, achieving a turnover of £20m in 2017.

“Livingston Mechanical Services has developed an excellent reputation over the last 25 years, initially serving the Livingston and Edinburgh regions before branching out across Scotland. It is a firm we know well and which shares our company values and ethos. It is an ideal fit and we believe the integration of our teams will be a seamless and enjoyable transition,” said Dunwell.

He confirmed that Morris & Spottiswood would continue to work closely with its existing mechanical subcontracting network. “The move increases our capacity and will allow us to target more projects to grow our mechanical portfolio,” he added.
