Logicool opens new £2m HQ and warehouse

UK: Air conditioning distributor Logicool has opened a new £2m warehouse and headquarters in Swadlincote, Derbyshire.

The new 16,000ft2 facility is more than three times the size of its previous base, also in Swadlincote, that it acquired in 2014.

Formed in 2008, this is the third move for the company which has gained an enviable reputation as a specialist distributor of Hitachi, Mitsubishi Electric, Panasonic and ancillary air conditioning products.

Significantly, the new purpose-designed facility makes use of a heat pump and heat recovery ventilation, but employs no air conditioning. With the building already designed to consume less than 3kW per hour, plans are in place to take the fossil-fuel energy consumption even lower with the installation of solar panels and a battery.

In addition to the move, Logicool has recently recruited two additional members of staff and now employs 18 people. A further two appointments are expected in the coming months.

The previous facility, which the company owns, will be kept on as a workshop and possible future training facility.
