Logicool to stock Ecodan heat pumps

UK: Derbyshire-based distributor Logicool is now stocking Mitsubishi Electric’s Ecodan air-source heat pumps.

Logicool has been a Mitsubishi Electric Value-added Reseller since around 2010 and has previously been selling Ecodan heat pumps to order. Now the company will be stocking units following its recent move into a new £2m 16,000ft2 headquarters and warehouse complex in Swadlincote, Derbyshire.

“Logicool has always been technically-biased and customer-focused specialists and as the heat pump market develops in the UK, we see a real opportunity to deliver the highest levels of customer service and project support,” explained Logicool owner and MD Karl Richardson.

“We know that the heat pump market is set to grow ten-fold over the next five years, which will require more support for both domestic and commercial installers, and this move by Logicool will help to accelerate this trend,” commented Mitsubishi Electric’s director of residential heating Russell Dean.

Logicool’s new purpose-designed facility, which the company moved into in October 2022, makes use of the renewable Ecodan heat pump system for its heating. The building is designed to consume less than 4kW of electricity per hour.

“We strongly believe that we are now entering the age of the heat pump and, in addition to stocking the products that will help deliver renewable heating now, we also realise that training existing heating engineers on how to apply heat pumps is important,” continued Richardson.

“That’s why we’re now looking at redesigning our previous offices to create a workshop and training facility which will help grow the number of installers.”
