MHI is Supplier of the Year

UK: Air conditioning manufacturer Mitsubishi Heavy Industries has been named Beijer Ref UK and Ireland Supplier of the Year.

The Japanese manufacturer signed an exclusive UK and Ireland deal with the refrigeration wholesaler last March, forming a joint venture company, 3D Plus. Since the exclusive deal, sales are said to have increased by 40%.

MHIAE general manager Ryoichi Kariya receives the Supplier of the Year Award from John Billson

Speaking at last week’s annual supplier dinner in Stockport, Beijer Ref UK and Ireland MD John Billson revealed that after Beijer Ref bought HRP in 2015, the UK group had a total of nine air conditioning suppliers. The decision to rationalise the product offering ended with the exclusive MHI deal: “The only one that had the same passion as us and the only one that wasn’t going to compete in the market with us,” John Billson said.

A special presentation was also made on the night to Javac UK founder Steve Davies, who retires this year.
