Mike Gittoes to take over as Arctic Circle MD

UK: Mike Gittoes is to take over as MD of Hereford-based Arctic Circle, the pioneering UK refrigeration company founded by his late father, Eddie Gittoes, in 1985.

Currently operations director, he will take over from current MD Debbie Gittoes, his mother, in April of next year. Debbie Gittoes will then become company chair and continue to be actively involved in the business.

Mike Gittoes, 31, the youngest of three children, only joined the company in 2013 after previously having had no intentions of joining the family business. Starting in the purchasing team as a materials controller, he soon progressed to operations supervisor and then fulfilment manager before being appointed to his current role of operations director in 2018.

This involvement is said to have instilled in Mike Gittoes a great passion for refrigeration and he now wants to continue his father’s legacy for innovation and training at Arctic Circle.
