Nominations sought for IoR president

Graeme Fox (left) and John Skelton have been nominated by the IoR board for the position of president-elect. Further nominations are now sought from amongst the IoR membership

UK: Members of the Institute of Refrigeration (IoR) are being invited to run for election as the Institute’s next president-elect.

The IoR board has itself nominated two candidates for the role, based on the recommendations of its nominating committee, which comprises current board members and past presidents, and is now seeking additional nominations from across the membership.

Members may propose additional candidates for president-elect at any time up until noon on September 3. Further information and a nomination form are available here.

The IoR board’s nominations to take over from current president Mike Creamer in 2022 are Refcom head Graeme Fox and Marks and Spencer technical manager John Skelton. Both individuals are current members of the IoR’s board of trustees.

The president-elect will initially support Mike Creamer in his role as IoR president and chairman of the IoR board of trustees until he stands down next year.

In October, the IoR members will be invited to vote for their next president from amongst all the nominated candidates.

IoR board trustee nominations

At the same time, members will be invited to vote for two candidates for the annual elections to the IoR board of trustees. Three nominations have been received this year:

Ian Fisher, technical sales director of Mattair Maintenance,
Ana Catarina Marques, senior research fellow at London South Bank University,
Clive Thornley, operations director at Styne Industrial Refrigeration.

More details about the candidates for president-elect and the board are available on the IOR website homepage and at https://ior.org.uk/candidates-for-president-elect-and-trustee-posts.

The online voting will be managed by independent online election specialists mi-voice. Voting members – Fellow, Member, Associate and Technician grade – will receive an email with their voting code and a link to the voting website in October.
