Philip Sloper 1952-2022

UK: Philip Sloper, the former MD of refrigeration wholesaler Thermofrost Cryo, has died aged 70.

After reading for a degree in natural sciences at Cambridge University, Philip joined Delta Metals as a graduate trainee and was assigned to work at Delta Cryo Ltd, based in Birmingham. 

ln 1982 the company was acquired by United Termofrost and merged into a single company renamed Thermofrost Cryo Ltd. At that time Philip became marketing director of the new company. He performed the role with distinction and oversaw continual growth in the firm, eventually becoming managing director in 2004.

He retired from the company in 2014 after 35 years of service.

A company statement said: “Thermofrost Cryo benefitted greatly from Philip’s vast industry knowledge, forensic attention to detail and impressive work rate. Philip will be greatly missed by family, friends and colleagues.”

Any donations in memory of Philip would be welcomed at The Motor Neurone Disease Association and/or The Mary Stevens Hospice
