RDM sold to Swedish company Sdiptech
UK: Swedish engineering company Sdiptech AB has acquired Glasgow-based refrigeration controls and monitoring company Resource Data Management Ltd.
Formed in 2000, RDM, under the leadership of CEO Andrew Chandler, has grown into one of the world’s leading control and remote monitoring companies with large retail customers in the UK, US, and Asia.
It has an annual turnover of £14m and a pre-tax operating income of £3.5m, and boasts direct subsidiaries in the USA, Malaysia, Australia, New Zealand.
RDM is Sdiptech’s eleventh business unit in the UK. The company admits that the UK is its main growth market in terms of identifying new businesses. It acquired Suffolk-based transport refrigeration company GAH (Refrigeration) in 2020 and added UK airflow control and monitoring company Temperature Electronics Ltd (TEL) at the end of March this year. Swedish refrigeration contractors Frigotech and KSS Klimat & Styrsystem are also part of the group.
“RDM is an interesting addition to Sdiptech’s business within refrigeration, air and climate control. Customer segments and technology complements our current market and offerings, and we look forward to continuing to develop the business further together with the talented team at RDM,” said Anders Mattson, Sdiptech’s head of special infrastructure solutions.
RDM’s Andrew Chandler said: “The Sdiptech Group’s knowledge and presence within both air
and climate control, as well as building management systems are highly valued, and is another reason why we believe this is a great fit for us in our further development.”
