REFCOM releases companion guide to banned refrigerants

UK: REFCOM has released a companion update to its recently released guide to the service and product bans which entered into force from January 1 under the European F-gas regulations.

The new bulletin, TB047, is designed to update its members on the legal position relating to older refrigerants such as CFCs and HCFCs which are still sometimes in use in older equipment.

The objective of this technical bulletin is to update members on what refrigerants are now banned and is published in response to reports of confusion and misleading statements currently being circulated.

The current TBO46 Service & Product Bans guidance issued in December 2019 should continues to provide information relating to specific product bans which came into effect on 1 January 2020 under the F-gas regulations.
