Russell Beattie: planning his retirement

UK: FETA is looking to recruit a new chief executive following Russell Beattie’s decision to retire this year.

Russell Beattie joined FETA in 2014, replacing Cedric Sloan. He was previously CEO of the John Smith Trust, a charity promoting social justice and good governance around the world. This followed a successful military career which included four years as director of the MOD’s British Forces Post Office and nearly three years as commandant at the Defence Logistics and Supply School.

Applications for the position are being dealt with by executive search and board-level consulting firm Kinvara Partners. Closing date for applications is 24 March.

Prospective candidates are expected to possess a rare combination of leadership skills, strong business management experience and a good understanding of policy and regulatory affairs. They are also expected to be accomplished board-level operators and may already have some relevant first-hand knowledge of this industry or a similar sector.
