Six through to WorldskillsUK final

UK: Six of the best refrigeration and air conditioning apprentices from across the UK have made it through to the WorldskillsUK 2022 National Finals in November.

Formerly known as SkillFridge, the new Fujitsu-sponsored RACHPSkills competition kicked off in April with six regional qualifiers at colleges across the UK.

The six top-scoring competitors through to the final are Luke Haile of Lightfoot Defence (Eastleigh College), Scott Ballantyne of AE Refrigeration (Glasgow Kelvin), Todd Montague of Vivo Defence Services (Bath College), Mitchell Scott of Universal Cooling (PRTC Practical Refrigeration Training Centre), Charlotte Robinson, of Catalent Pharma Solutions (Bath College) and Peter Smith of Arcus Ltd (Eastleigh College).

The refrigeration and air conditioning finals will take place on 16-18 November at Barking and Dagenham College.

This year’s WorldskillsUK 2022 National Finals will involve a total of 500 finalists taking part in 62 different skills at six colleges across the UK.

Gold, silver and bronze medals will be awarded at each competition, with competitors who impress under pressure getting the chance to represent the UK at the “skills olympics” in France in 2024.
