SkillFridge 2018 winner joins 2019 finalists

UK: Dominic Dray, the winner of SkillFridge 2018, will join six other contestants in competing for this year’s SkillFridge final at WorldSkills UK Live in November.

Following this year’s nationwide heat, the six highest scoring apprentices have been selected for the 2019 final. The finalists are Bath College students Sidney Copus of Space Engineering Services and James Hamblin of T H White, a Wiltshire-based company working within the agricultural sector; Joshua Collins of Glasgow Kelvin College, an employee of JD Cooling; Sodexo’s Greg Sinclair of Eastleigh College; Ben Wilson of Knight Engineering and Sebastian Gajors of Climate Control Support.

They will be joined in the final by last year’s winner Dominic Dray, from Eastleigh College, who has been invited back to compete for the chance to join the World Skills UK Squad for Shanghai in 2021.

In preparation for the SkillFridge final, the seven competitors will undergo a series of training days provided by industry experts. The final will be hosted by WorldSkills UK Live – the UK’s largest skills, apprenticeships and careers event – at the NEC Birmingham from 21-23 November.
