Steve Davies defibrillator fund raises over £6,000

UK: A fund set up in memory of Javac UK founder Steve Davies, who passed away suddenly in January, has raised more than six times its original target of £1,000.

Hugely popular throughout the UK air conditioning and refrigeration industry, Steve Davies was managing director of leading tools supplier Javac UK for 27 years until its acquisition by Aspen Pumps in 2017.

His fatal heart attack on January 12 prompted his family to set up a fund to purchase and enable a defibrillator to be placed within his local community. The original target of £1,000 was soon exceeded and today stands at £6,589.

Writing on his Linkedin page, Steve’s son Scott Davies commented: “The unbelievable generosity of everyone donating to a Go Fund Me page raised a phenomenal amount which has now paid for 6 defibrillators across Teesside.”

The first two defibrillators are now in place and more are to follow.

“Mine and my family’s sincere gratitude goes out to everyone from inside and outside the industry who donated and sent messages,” Scott added
