Steve Gill takes lead cooling role at Carbon Trust

UK: Steve Gill, the head of the World Refrigeration Day secretariat, has been appointed head of sustainable cooling at The Carbon Trust.

In this new role, Gill will play a key role in leading global initiatives to address critical climate change challenges and develops new propositions to address gaps and opportunities globally where the Carbon Trust can deliver significant mission impact.

A former president of the Institute of Refrigeration and director of ACRIB, Steve Gill has a wide experience of the refrigeration industry. His career spanning over 40 years has included leading roles with some of the top names in the business, including GEA, Johnson Controls, Morris & Young, ABB Stal, Hussmann and BOC-Linde.

One of his most notable achievements has been to galvanise the industry around the world to get behind the World Refrigeration Day concept, and its a role which he will continue to play.

Set up by the UK government in 2001 as an independent company, The Carbon Trust provides specialist support to help business and the public sector make efficiency savings and seize opportunities by cutting carbon emissions, saving energy and commercialising low carbon technologies.

The Carbon Trust sees itself at the cutting edge of the transition to net zero cooling and, with this new position, it says it aims to enhance its impact and continue to rapidly scale up its work in this area.
