Women in RACHP meet on March 14

UK: The IoR Women in RACHP Networking Breakfast is back, providing a platform for current professionals working in the industry and wishing to further their careers.

The next free-to-attend event will be at the Bitzer UK head office in Milton Keynes on March 14. It will look at the range of different types of career that the refrigeration air conditioning and heat pump sector offers.

Guest speakers from industry will provide an insight into personal career paths and experiences, while heads from local schools will take part to explain what they need from industry to help increase interest in engineering as a career choice. The network will also look at industry initiatives which are successfully engaging with young people to promote the air conditioning and refrigeration industry to the next generation.

Speakers include Lisa Pogson, joint managing director, Airmaster; Jane Gartshore, a former IoR president and currently a partner in technical training company Cool Concerns; Shelley Bowdery, previously head of maths and science at St Joseph’s College and an enthusiast in encouraging female candidates to apply for university STEM subjects; and Ian Fisher, business development manager at Airmaster, who joined as an apprentice and worked his way up through the company.
