WRD continues support for women in STEM

UK: World Refrigeration Day (WRD) is continuing its support for women in engineering by continuing its sponsorship of the Stemazing Inspiration Academy training programme.
The four-month training supports women in STEM to excel at public engagement, change outdated perceptions and leave a legacy by delivering engaging online StemazingKids sessions to inspire the next generation. The programme will culminate in them running their own 6-week online StemazingKidsclub to inspire 7-9 year olds.
Registration is now open for both women applicants and schools. The deadline for women is September 10, with September 30 the deadline for schools. Successful applicants will start on October 1, with the live school STEM sessions being delivered in January and February next year.
After the success of the pilot programme, Steve Gill said the WRD secretariat was delighted to be supporting the programme again. “The pilot programme earlier this year was such a huge success, exceeding all expectations with 45 women, of which the majority where from the RACHP sector delivering STEM sessions to more than 1,600 primary school children. The feed-back from everyone involved and the schools has been fantastic.”
In addition to this ‘open’ programme, WRD have announced that they will be partnering with Stemazing to deliver an international programme exclusive to women from RACHP sector from around the world. Interest in participating in this programme is already arriving from Australia, Indian, Africa and the USA, in addition to the UK and Europe.
“In addition to the wonderful training being offered, it will be a great opportunity for women from our sector to network and share experiences,” added Steve.
