Cloud-based monitoring of Engie chillers

GERMANY: Engie Refrigeration is now offering CoolCare 4.0, a cloud-based chiller monitoring and control service.

The hardware required to connect to CoolCare 4.0 is already included ex-works in most of Engie cooling and heating models, including Quantum Water, Quantum Air, Spectrum Water chillers and Spectrum Water heat pumps. Older models can also be easily retrofitted.

The cloud-based service comprises two central functions – data monitoring and remote access. Data monitoring ensures the comprehensive recording of all operating data, statuses and alarms. The clear cloud visualisation shows the results in real time, while automatic fault messages provide immediate notification of any deviations.

In addition to remote access by contractor/client, Engie’s ExpertSupport provides rapid assistance, if necessary, with remote access by the Engie Refrigeration service team.

A key advantage of CoolCare 4.0 is said to be its smooth and secure integration into Engie Refrigeration’s Digital Cloud Services – for maximum transparency, efficiency and remote access.

Operational machine data – such as operating times, efficiency indicators, compressor data and alarm messages – and the transmission of these data to the cloud are continuously and automatically transmitted via a secure connection.

The multi-client capable solution also allows Engie Refrigeration to centrally manage all user and group access. A multi-level security concept based on the IEC 62443 standard promises the highest possible data protection and prevents unauthorised access.
