Prefabricated hydronic balancing and control

DENMARK: The latest solution from Danfoss is a prefabricated hydronic balancing and control solution for four-pipe heating and cooling change-over systems.

The AB-QM 4.0 CO6 Flexo is designed to streamline the design, installation, and servicing of hydronic HVAC systems, specifically radiant panels and chilled beams in four-pipe heating and cooling change-over systems.

The set is equipped with the high-accuracy AB-QM 4.0 pressure independent balancing and control valve as well the ChangeOver6 six-way ball valve.

The valves are prefabricated into a compact, pressure tested, connection set with six space optimised 18mm pipes; four to connect to the HVAC heating and cooling, and two to connect to the radiant panel or chilled beam. All of them can be rotated for maximum installation flexibility.

You can choose from sets with 18mm connections for press fit, or ½in internal thread as well from sets with low flow range between 20-200 l/h or normal flow range between 65-650 l/h.

Depending on the demand situation, either heating or cooling is allowed into the terminal unit. During the change-over sequence crossflow is prevented.

The change-over sequence is determined by stand-alone or BMS room temperature controllers. They control Danfoss actuators mounted on both valves in the connection set. Digital NovoCon actuators are used for easy connection with the BMS. In case of stand-alone temperature controllers or BMS with analogue I/O’s, the AME 110NL(X) modular 0-10V actuators combined with the ChangeOver6 can be used.

With a built-in height of only 125 mm, including actuators, the AB-QM 4.0 CO6 Flexo minimizes ceiling space requirements.

Perfectly balanced heating and cooling design flows are said to be ensured, even at partial loads.

The ‘click-fit’ connections can be rotated and provide maximum installation flexibility. Despite the ultimate flexibility they ensure watertight operation and reduce failure costs. These connections also allow for quick disassembly and replacement of the AB-QM 4.0 or ChangeOver6 valves.
