$63m boost for US heat pump production
15th February 2024USA: The US Department of Energy (DOE) has announced the availability of a further $63m to boost US production of heat pumps.
This investment from President Biden’s Inflation Reduction Act utilises the Defense Production Act (DPA) to increase domestic production of key clean energy technologies, including electric heat pumps.
This funding opportunity builds on a successful first round of $169m announced in November last year for heat pump manufacturing projects by nine companies across 15 US sites.
The investment is expected to boost US manufacturing, reduce the nation’s reliance on fossil fuels, while creating clean energy jobs and lowering energy costs.
