TURKEY: Metin Duruk, one of the most influential people in the Turkish HVACR industry and recognised around the world, has died at the age of 74.
Founder and chairman on heat exchanger product manufacturer Friterm, Duruk was involved in the establishment of the Turkish air conditioning and refrigeration manufacturers’ Association İSKİD and the HVACR education foundation ISKAV, serving time as chairman of both organisations.
He also served as the treasurer and board of TMMOB-MMO, the Turkish chamber of mechanical engineers, and was vice chairman of ISIB, the Turkish air conditioning industry exporters’ association.
