Refrigerant producers report differing sales
4th November 2026
USA: Leading manufacturers Chemours and Solstice have announced widely differing Q3 refrigerant sales results, reflecting volatility in channel inventory and sector-specific end markets.
In latest results, Solstice refrigerant sales in Q3 were up 8% to $433m, while Chemours saw its refrigerant sales decline 9% to $510m compared to the same quarter in 2025.
According to Solstice, their sales increase was driven by strong demand across automotive and data centre applications. Chemours reports that its decrease was accounted for by a 9% decrease in volumes and a slight decrease in price. This it attributes to lower North American stationary AC aftermarket sales of its Opteon blends compared with elevated demand in Q3 2025, which benefited from the initial aftermarket channel fill associated with the stationary AC technology transition under the US AIM Act.
Specifically, sales of Chemours’ lower GWP Opteon brand refrigerants were down 22% at $287m in the latest quarter.
