AREA document gives COVID-19 advice

BELGIUM: The European contractors’ group AREA is the latest to publish advice on measures to be taken with the operation and maintenance of air conditioning systems during the COVID-19 outbreak.
The latest technical bulletin, created with support from UK member group REFCOM, is based on the best currently available advice.
Mirroring similar advice from other organisations, it recommends that any ventilation or air conditioning system that normally runs with a recirculation mode should be set to run on full fresh air.
The document also sets out the special measures that should be taken at this time when dealing with maintenance tasks, in particular the changing or cleaning of filters.
