Arkema announces 15% increase on all HFCs

Arkema-hqFRANCE: Arkema Fluorochemicals has announced further European price increases on all its Forane HFC refrigerants.

The 15% increase on packaged and bulk grades of all Forane HFC products takes immediate effect. It follows a 20% increase imposed by the refrigerant manufacturer at the end of November and mirrors similar increases being made by other manufacturers. In June last year, Arkema imposed a 15% in Europe across its refrigerant blends R404A, R407A, R407C, R410A, R427A and R507.

A statement on the company’s website announcing the increase says: ‘In a macroeconomic environment that has profoundly changed in the past few months, this price increase is necessary to pursue the improvement in the profitability of the HFCs activities and the development of lower GWP alternatives.’

Similar price increase are expected by other refrigerant producers over the coming weeks as manufacturers come to terms with the F-gas quota system and the impending HFC phase-down under the F-gas regulations.
