Bacharach buys UK competitor Parasense
USA/UK: Refrigerant leak detection company Bacharach has acquired UK manufacturer Parasense.
Established in 1988 and based in Gloucester, Parasense is an industry leader in the development, manufacture and support of refrigerant detection and monitoring equipment, particularly in the food retail and military sectors.
Still under the direction of founder and MD Dan Radford, the UK facility is the base for manufacturing and design operations, as well as providing sales and support resources for Parasense’s European and export customer base.
A US subsidiary, Parasense Inc, was formed in 1996 and is based in Stanardsville, Virginia. This assembly and distribution operation is under the direction of chief operations officer Michelle Collier.
“Parasense has an exceptional reputation in refrigeration monitoring in the food retail sector and provides integrated energy management systems and remote data management to ensure energy efficiency, food safety, reduced waste and operating costs savings.” said Doug Keeports, president of Bacharach.
“This aligns well with Bacharach’s strategic plan and focus on market leadership in instrumentation and expertise of refrigerant monitoring, as well as complementing Bacharach’s strengths in the combustion and emissions analysis markets.”
Bacharach says that the two company’s will continue to operate under their existing structure and company names as the management team work to leverage the combined strengths of the two businesses.
Bacharach Inc began operations in 1909 and now offers a complete line of products that detect, measure and monitor gases with portable and fixed instruments. It is headquartered in New Kensington, Pennsylvania, and operates sales and distribution companies in Canada and Ireland.
