Beijer Ref and Carrier sign DX sales deal

Carrier-hi-wallSWEDEN: Refrigeration wholesaler Beijer Ref has signed a distribution agreement with Carrier to distribute its DX air conditioning products in Europe.

Beijer Ref says the deal gives it exclusive rights to distribute Carrier’s updated direct expansion product ranges in the European Union, other than countries where Carrier already has a distributor for these products. This is thought to apply to most of the main markets in western Europe including Poland.

The Carrier range covers inverter-driven split and multi-split heat pumps units for residential and commercial applications. It includes hi-wall, cassette, ducted floor and ceiling models.

In the UK, the Carrier products will be promoted through Beijer Ref company RW Refrigeration Wholesale. Andy Reed, RW’s business director confirmed that they would initially be marketing four Carrier hi-wall models of 2.5-7kW capacity.

“With this exclusive distribution agreement and the relaunch of Carrier’s products, Beijer Ref strengthens its position as a leading refrigeration and air conditioning wholesaler in Europe,” said Per Bertland, CEO of Beijer Ref. It enables us to offer our customers an even stronger product supply. This collaboration agreement is yet another example of the benefit of Carrier’s relationship with the Beijer Ref Group,”

The new agreement extends the link with Carrier. In 2008, Beijer acquired Carrier’s refrigeration wholesale distribution operations in Europe and South Africa.
