Beijer Ref buys third US distributor

SWEDEN/USA: Beijer Ref has signed an agreement to acquire the assets of North American HVAC distributor Webb Supply, its third acquisition since entering the US market 12 months ago.

Webb Supply is headquartered in Cleveland, Ohio and serves contractors from six locations in Northeastern Ohio and Western Pennsylvania – territories adjacent to Beijer Ref’s current holdings in the US. Webb has annual sales of approximately $20m and has around 40 employees

Founded in 1965, Webb Supply is said to be closely aligned with Beijer Ref’s key suppliers in the US region. Following the acquisition, Beijer Ref says that Webb Supply will continue to operate under its own brand, in both distribution and marketing. The existing management will roll-over investment into Beijer Ref’s US platform and continue to run the business.

“The acquisition aligns with our overall growth strategy and complements our existing offer in the US well,” said Beijer Ref CEO Christopher Norbye. “Webb Supply brings substantial expertise and knowledge, and we look forward to continuing developing the company together with its current owners.”
