Carrier brings CO2 technology to the US

USA: Carrier Commercial Refrigeration is bringing its CO2 mechanical refrigeration systems to its North American home market.

The company has been using CO2 natural refrigerant in its mechanical refrigeration systems in other parts of the world since 2004, amassing customers in more than 35 countries across the EMEA and APAC regions. During that time, it has delivered more than 20,000 CO2 systems in Europe alone.

“We’re energised and eager to bring this innovative technology to North America to help create a more sustainable future for people and our planet,” commented Jimmy Washington, Carrier Commercial Refrigeration’s North America MD.

Carrier Commercial Refrigeration said it is offering its technology to a wide range of verticals in North America, with a strong focus on industrial applications, food and grocery retail and convenience stores.

The current available product range includes CO2 compressor racks and heat pumps for mechanical refrigeration systems. There are plans to offer condensing units in the coming months.
